Azura

General, Restaurants  /   /  By Aaron Fin

Azura is located in the center of Mahane-Yehuda Market in Jerusalem.

It is a veteran restaurant (25 years old..) offering a wide variety of homemade food.

The food consist mainly of Kurdish, Iraqi and Sephardic dishes, that are usually kept warm in very large pots – placed on heating stoves.

Examples are:
Large meatballs in fresh tomato sauce, freshly prepared humus, Sephardi chicken stew, Kubbeh soup as well as a variety of other Middle Eastern dishes.

Many people visit the restaurant, thorough all hours in the day.

The service is swift. Seating is sometimes (at rush hours) aside others hungry people… so you make acquaintances as well.

Some say that the cuisine is that of “the Jewish people who used to live in Muslim countries”; dishes of delicious tastes.

The Azura tables, in the center of the courtyard are dressed in red and white checked tablecloths- on the two sides.
