Nahal Amud (Amud valley) is located in a valley near the city of Safed (Zefat), in the north of Israel.

The valley hike is considered to be one of the most scenic and beautiful hiking trails in Northern Israel.

The valley itself runs through the channel; between the city of Safed in the north and the Sea of Galilee in its south.

It is a path of some 20 kilometers, in full length.

At the entrance of the trail, there is a large parking area. This is also a comfortable “facilities” and picnic area.

Maps, instructions, facts and historical data are available at the starting point.

The conventional route is a 4 kilometers long trail. A round trip will last between 3-4 hours (depending on pace).

Summer time is hot, humid and dangerous in terms of dehydration, hence water is highly (and importantly) recommended.
